Bio

Zahid A. Syed is an Assistant Professor of Computer Science at University of Michigan - Flint. He received his Masters (2008) and PhD (2014) from West Virginia University. His teaching interests stem from  prior experience in FPGA design, and a short stint as an ASIC design engineer. His primary research focus is on behavioral-biometrics based authentication systems. This field lies at the intersection of biometrics, software engineering, human-computer interaction, machine learning and statistical analysis. Additional research interests include user privacy & security in relation to computer systems and social networking, and designing computer science courses for active learning environments.
